“Grace” by Shannon Hopkins

As age erodes
my grace
I find myself
in two.

There is still
the young woman
who wants to be admired,
and there is the older woman
who no longer cares—
has her works to pursue.

The young woman
looks up to the older,
aching over mistakes made.
The older
envies the younger
what is forever
gone.
